Construction

As explained in the previous post, I wanted a layout that could do the "roundy-roundy" thing but also a little operation interest.

It also has become a test bed for some scenery technique testing. I didn't want a flat earth setting so I "cookie cuttered" some forms and made some very gentle grades. Basically the points are on the level but the river end dips and the other end is slightly higher. The river form was cut from the base with another piece of would glued below the base level. Grout was used to form the river banks. The hill under the temple and against the backdrop was made using polystyrene sheets glued in place, roughed up and then covered with grout. The forest is lichen hot glued in place.

The basics can be seen here

The forest is growing with the help of some little hands

A lovely day to be in the outdoors recreating the great outdoors in miniature form.

At the end of the day the layout is virtually complete
