Ever expanding staging yards

Prior to the exhibition at Stawell, I had been planning some sequences that would maintain interest for viewers and provide the opportunity to operate, rather than just circulate trains in a "roundy-round" arrangement.

I came to the conclusion that my minimal storage/staging yards would benefit from a little expansion. Out came the jigsaw and bandsaw and with a quick trip to Bunnings for a little bit of shopping a new set of yards emerged. They are screwed to the main board and a bridging track placed over each join. I used a standard straight length of track as a joining piece to make it easy to replace if needed.

North (Kita) yard

Each yard mirrors the other and provision for a longer road was made. There was also the ability to store rollingstock off-track but within reach. The long road allows multiple unit and freight trains to make an appearance between the shorter railcar and two car units.

South (Minami) yard
A shelf unit was also built so that all the electrics and odds and sods had a place to clutter. It is suspended by two bolts under the foldable blowmould table that makes up the display.
